testEvery year Santa comes through our neighborhood on a fire truck with lights flashing and siren blaring. We always run out to meet him and take pictures and get some candy. When we first moved here he would come down our street and turn around in the cul-de-sac. Then 2 years ago he faked us out and stopped up the road at a fork and turned around so we went up to meet him this year. I’m not certain but I think Santa has been in the egg nog a little too much before this ride, click on the pic and check him out up close.

It did help get the kids to bed early though. We told them that Santa was still in the area so he was able to keep an eye on them. “He sees you when you’re sleeping, He knows when you’re awake …..”

Kids on Halloween at Capt Jack Sparrow\'sYep, this is the first year that we’ve had all four kids, or Marc at all, on Halloween for Trick or Treating. I drove up Friday afternoon to get him and try to get back in time before the other 3 ripped the door down at dark, we barely made it right after dark. Kellie was Princess Aurora, or Sleeping Beauty as you probably know her. I’m not sure what Erin was, I guess a dead, scary, witchy, something or another. Marc was a cowboy, at least that’s what he said he was, there was a hat. Alyssa was scariest of them all, she was an ugly, mean looking witch :) ! We walked a good bit through the neighborhood though there were some skipped houses along the way, I think the older kids hit more but they always get ahead of Kellie since they don’t need adults holding their hand. We worked our way around to where the Pirate’s of the Caribbean show will be the next weekend, at one of our neighbor’s houses. He does a big production that gets bigger each year with costumes, sets, smoke, etc, and it’s free although they will take charitable donations to benefit SMA, Spinal Muscular Atrophy. This was in front of the Flying Dutchman set. Click on the image to see the full size version. The extra girl beside Erin is her friend down the street Ashley.

I then walked Erin over to a friend’s house that was having a party ’til late, their house was all made up cool with crystal balls with floating heads inside them and lighting effects, while the rest of us went to get something to eat and then we all came back home to divy up the treasure and enjoy a sugar rush.

Today is Lyssa’s 13′th B’day, finally a teenager. I wasn’t certain she was going to make it but alas, her mother did not kill her so she has made it to her next milestone in life.

Tonight she is having a few friends over and a party at her favorite place, Maurice’s. Yeah I know, a party at a clothing store, go figure. Then a few of the little, um, I mean her friends, are coming back here for a sleepover, parents come get them by noon!

Happy Birthday Lyssa!

Marc Jr and Kellie at Hollie and Chad\'s weddingAs mentioned a few posts ago, we went to Hollie and Chad’s wedding at Bethesda Chapel on September 6, yep, had to wear shoes that day. The three of us were in it and I wish I had been able to get a pic of all three of us and one with Pepa, all of us in our monkey suits.

But here is a pic of two of my beautiful babies, click it for a full size version. Kellie was the flower girl and Marc was the ring bearer, although he bore no rings. He wasn’t at the rehearsal the night before and had to wing it so they walked in the door and down the aisle not knowing he needed the little pillow. I think Kellie showed him where to stand.

This is the only pic I have so far, hopefully more to come and you can check Hollie’s Facebook for many candid shots.

Yes for six months straight we have a birthday/month around here at the Bigbie house but today it’s one of the rare occasions, an adult one. Today is Kriss’ um, um, well, um, 29th birthday, yeah that’s it, 29th birthday. We were born the same year less than three months apart so that makes me 29 too, yay both of us!!!

So here is your birthday cake, make a wish, don’t tell anyone, and blow the candles out.

Happy birthday baby, we all love you very much!

You know its been busy since I haven’t even had a chance to update the Disney trip page of our last trip. But since then Erin had a birthday and we cooked out and had a cake for her. The kids have all started back school, Alyssa is in 7th grade, Marc in 6th, Erin 5th, and Kellie started kindergarten. We’ve been lucky twice now with Erin because she is two years behind Alyssa so when she has good teachers, Kriss requests that teacher for Erin and this year worked too. Both of them just got progress reports and are doing good still. Kellie is in kindergarten now and riding the bus too, so far she is still liking it a month in to it. This weekend Chad and Hollie got married too so we’ve been weddnin’ it all weekend too. Congratulations to you two.

Surprise Family Disney Trip 2008I didn’t ever intend on posting the Disney stuff on the home page of my site but this trip was a little different. Marc Jr was here for his last week in Summer and we kept the girls an extra weekend and decided to surprise them with a quick trip to Disney. Then my dad and Lynn decided to go too before she goes back to school in a few weeks so we booked rooms and left out last Thursday to go to Orlando. Friday we hung out at the pool and then Saturday was a park commando day, which we don’t usually do. Then Sunday was a huge 550 mile day to take Marc to Macon and then home. Here is a picture of us all at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, formerly MGM. I’ll get a full trip report and some video on the Disney trip page soon.

Kriss and her mom posing with Billy Dean in Richmond HillWe won 4 VIP passes from KIX 96 to see Billy Dean right here in Richmond Hill, GA at JF Gregory Park Saturday July 19. It was a pretty neat show which we planned on attending anyway, but having VIP passes made it all the better. Kriss, her mom, and I went and immediately ran into people we all knew, but still it wasn’t a packed show and I think that’s the way it was intended. The passes got us into a VIP section roped off right in front of the stage and also to go backstage and meet Billy Dean. We walked right around the stage and watched him take pictures, sign autographs, and talk to people, he seemed like a pretty down to earth guy in the few minutes we were back there and listening to him tell funny stories about his life on stage between songs. What else was amazing was he performed for over an hour with no band just him and an acoustic guitar. There were several other people there including local dance band The Rogues, who have been around Savannah for decades, and also country newcomer and Effingham native Hannah Dasher. I think the Richmond Hill Idol winner was there before we got there and also the Mayor Richard Davis was there the whole night and gave Billy the key to the city, although I’m pretty sure I could pick the lock :) . We did do a big party for Kellie today and I cooked burgers and dogs on the grill, my neighbor made noodle salad and brought over. We put up the tent to either stay out the sun or rain since it couldn’t make up it’s mind. We almost canceled it though because we thought no one was coming but in the end it all went well and we had lots of family over to enjoy Kellie’s birthday. Marc Jr was here this weekend too and the girls were here so we had a house full as usual already but dad and Lynn came, mom and Granny Tootsie, Hollie and Chad, Granny and Grandaddy, and my neighbor Bruce and his mom (we missed you Lonnie.) I can’t believe my baby is 5 years old today. Now I know what everyone means when they write those silly cards about how it seems like it was “just yesterday when we brought you home from the hospital.” I just can’t believe how much my baby has grown and what she can do in only five years. She still runs to meet me every day screaming “Daddy!” and grabbing me around my legs if I can’t get bent over fast enough to pick her up for a hug. Watching her turn over, crawl, walk, talk, run, play, write, type, and now swim on her own is amazing, but still every day there is something new that makes you say “wow, I can’t believe she can do that.” She is growing up so fast and part of me wishes she could stay little forever and part of me can’t wait to see what she surprises me with tomorrow.I wish I could post every picture that I ever had of her from birth on and I wish I had everything from all of the websites I had ever written about her, she is the reason I started making a website to begin with.

I’m sure we’ll do a little something for her today, it IS her birthday, but we also have a little party planned this weekend for her with some close family and friends coming to celebrate and cook out. Maybe we’ll even go to the pool and let her show off some in the water.

Mommy and daddy love you so very much! HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLIE!
