Fun at Mardi Gras on Tybee

This past weekend Tybee had it’s first Annual Mardi Gras parade and street party. We had all four kids this weekend so Kriss and I made plans to go down to the beach and check it out. The kids really love going to the beach and the weather was going to be nice. We got there early enough to get good parking and get down by the pier where a few vendors were set up selling beads, masks, drinks, etc. We had over an hour before the parade came so we walked up on the pier and then the kids wanted to go dig in the sand so we let them while we sat on the pier and enjoyed the sun.We ran in to several friends too.As it got closer to time for the parade we walked down to the circle and got a good seat right on the corner so we could take some pictures of the parade. We were sitting right in front of the stage where Bottles and Cans was playing. They played the whole time the parade was going on. There were plenty of crazys dressed in costumes, glad I had my camera, and the parade floats were cute.

Afterward we went for pizza, very good, and came back home to rest up from the long day in the sun and breeze, but we all had a great time. I hope they continue this next year. There is a St Patty’s parade on Tybee the weekend before the big Savannah one too, hmmm.
