I have been wanting to write this post for a week now but needed to wait until this past weekend was over. Last week Kriss noticed some charges on our credit card statement that she didn’t recognize including one large one that came through for an airline ticket. She called the particular airline but since her name wasn’t on the reservation they wouldn’t tell her anything. She also called the bank and spoke to the fraud department and reported the transactions in question, cancelled the cards, and we went to the bank and changed accounts. I then called the airline and they did talk to me and tell me that “I” had booked, so the person not only had my card number but my name, a round trip flight on the for the 21st going to Boston from the Dominican Republic! Unfortunately this was neither an airline I use, a country I was in, nor a phone call I ever made. They said they would put some sort of hold on it and report it to their fraud department, fortunately you have to give a name and show an ID to get on the plane now, and they would try to nab this person at the gate. I think it would have been far cooler if they had let them get to Boston, on American soil, and then lock your butt up so that our justice system could deal with you and I could even press charges on top of what the bank and airlines will do since the bank even recommended me to file it with my local authorities.
How stupid is it to steal a credit card number then book a flight for a week later knowing the charges will show up online and that you had to use your name you have an ID for AND show up in person. So I hope right now there is a Dominican sitting in a jail somewhere giving second thoughts to their stupidity, I only wish I knew where you were so I could come “thank” you personally. I also hope you squeal like a pig on who actually got my card because you are obviously too dumb to do such a thing on your own. AMF!
Yes I admit it, my name is Marc and I’m a Disneyholic. We made a quick trip down this past weekend and I’m back home having just finished writing the trip report and having withdrawals. We had an awesome time again on many different levels. We got to ride a new ride, Toy Story Midway Mania, we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge for the first time in several years, I got to be there (briefly) for Star Wars Weekends, we stayed up late Friday night, Kriss and I actually got to spend time talking and being with each other for possibly the first time since pregnancy (felt like the good old days), and it was all the more better after being away from my family on my birthday in another city where very few people knew me. It was also nice because I got to write my (admittedly long) trip report while there since we now have free internet in our rooms when we stay at our DVC resorts, something that cost $9.95/day less than 2 months ago. So I was able to sit in bed and write wireless when we got back to the room while everything was fresh in my mind, then wrap it up when we got home and publish, so far I’m loving the new website. I’m missing Disney already and it’s even harder since we’re having more fun there now than ever, just got to get all these videos edited to help feed the addiction!
With a quiet weekend coming up having only one child for the first time in over a month, we thought it was time for, you guessed it, another trip to Disney. We do this a lot after the family trip since it’s usually more of a production and this year we did one park commando day with the whole family, plus we had some DVC points we had to use by July 31 or we’d lose them. WooHoo!! Talk about a way to end the week. Lucky Dog 106.9 is giving away $1000 on Thursdays and last night we were listening (while playing Wii) and they played the song of the week. Kriss and I immediately started calling on our cell phones and I got through on caller 10 but I let her have the phone. Sure ’nuff we won. They told her the checks wouldn’t be ready for two weeks but today they left a voice mail that “corporate” was in town and signed checks today so she ran in to town, at 4:00 on a Friday afternoon, to get it and get it deposited. She called me from the bank but I didn’t think to ask how she got that check stuffed in the tube at the drive through lane. It’s also funny because our friend Michelle won it two weeks ago. This was perfect timing though after coming back from Disney last week so Lucky Dog just paid for my vacation. Or maybe they paid for part of my vacation and the new Wii. Oh well, no matter how it adds up, thanks Lucky Dog, you definitely helped out the credit card bill for THIS month!!!
OMG!!! Our four year old Kellie is playing the Wii Fit Table Tilt and getting as high as we have so far. We bought the Wii last weekend and the Wii Fit exercise game and Kellie has been dying to play. We thought she was too young but tonight we made her a Mii (her character) so she could try it because there is a hula hoop game on there to teach balance and coordination. Well there is another one called Table Tilt where you stand on the Wii Board and move to correspond to a floating board on the screen where you tilt balls in to a hole in the alloted time, it takes a good bit of coordination and balance to do this. She made it to level 6 three times! So I had to record it.
Holy cow, we’ve found the way to save money. A small investment in a Nintendo Wii and all of your problems are solved. We picked one up yesterday and somehow all of the planets lined up so Kriss and I had a night alone so we ended up playing the Wii (bowling and golf are our favorites) for about 5 hours before going to bed after midnight. This morning we were up and playing again by 8:30 and somewhere after 2:30 we left to go pick up kids, with only brief stops for bathroom breaks and making bacon and egg sandwiches between frames/holes and it’s now after 9:30 tonight. I think we’ve found our summer activity to keep us home and save on that stupid high priced gas. Read more
