Valentines weekend trip

The older girls went out of town this weekend skiing so Kriss and I decided last minute to take a quick trip back to Disney. We had considered it for two weeks since we got back from the last trip and I even called a few times to try and get a cheap room on site with an Annual Passholder (AP) discount. I even called from the road around St Augustine just to make sure. But Friday morning after the kids were gone to school we decided we’d take out anyway and just find a room off property somewhere.Fortunately the Magic Kingdom was open late Friday night since we got there late and we took Kellie to ride most of her favorite rides. It’s funny now that “Pirate Sparrow” is one of the rides she wants to ride on first now. We got to ride Aladdin’s Flying Carpets, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise (ride this one at night for a different experience.)

Saturday we went to Animal Kingdom and Kriss rode Expedition Everest while I kept Kellie and we took pictures. Today was also the day Kellie rode Dinosaur for the first time. She was tall enough on the last trip to ride Test Track and Soarin’ and Dinosaur is a 40″ ride too so Kriss wanted to try it with her. I thought she would be scared but she did pretty well tucked in between mommy and daddy even with all the bouncing around. She also LOVES to ride Triceratops Spin (imagine that, Dumbo, Aladdin, Triceratops Spin…) so we did a few times before heading back to use our Kilimanjaro Safari fastpasses and lunch at Pizzafari.

Then we headed to MGM (now Hollywood Studios, it’ll take me a while to get used to saying that) because they’ve redone the Playhouse Disney Live On Stage show and Kellie also loves The Voyage Of The Little Mermaid show.

That night was a trip up to City Walk and the Hard Rock. We sat out in the middle of the floor at a square table which I don’t usually like but it wasn’t bad tonight plus we were near the bar and got to see everyone dance to YMCA. This had me laughing so hard I almost choked on my brisket sandwich. All of the servers were on top of the bar and booths doing YMCA so Kellie started doing it. Kriss had her digital camera and tried to take some video of it but it was just too dark to use but trust me, there is a LOT of laughing by Kriss and I in between Kellie doing the motions and trying to keep eating.

Sunday we usually get up and head straight back home but since we weren’t in a hurry to get back for the older girls, we went to EPCOT for a few hours. Kellie loves the new Nemo ride and we messed around until we ate lunch in Mexico at the San Angel Inn and rode the Three Caballeros which Kellie also loves. She also got in to this hat thing and was trying on hats everywhere. I’ve tried to get her to pose with them in the past and she was never interested but for some reason she was grabbing them everywhere and saying “Daddy take a picture of me.”
