Pirates and Princess Trip
We went to the Pirates and Princess party in Disney on Jan 26th and took Kellie to the Bibbity Bobbity Boutique to be made up as her favorite princess, Cinderella. Dad and Lynn were also down in Orlando the week before because Lynn had a conference for school so they had decided to stay the weekend and go to Disney before they even knew we were going. So they went to EPCOT with us Saturday morning and dad got to ride Mission:Space with me for the first time. Kellie has FINALLY gotten past the magical 40″ height so she was able to ride Test Track and Soarin’ for the first time and loved them both.We ate lunch in Mexico at the San Angel Inn (Kellie likes to eat “in that dark place”) and then we left to go get her bathed and ready for the evening.
She had a wonderful time at the Boutique getting made up like a princess. One person did her hair while another did her makeup and nails. They took her back in the dressing room and put on her gown and glass slipper and came out to finish her and then spin her around for her big reveal in the mirror which is the big smiling face you see in the movie. Afterward we went for the photo shoot which took her a little while to warm up to but you can see she had a ball in the end.
Then we headed to the Magic Kingdom for the party. We watched a show in front of the castle, but after getting lucky all day with the weather, we finally had a little bit of drizzle, so we made a bee line to Toon Town to see the princesses. She got to see Aurora, Sleeping Beauty for those of you that don’t know her real name, Snow White, and Cinderella. We unfortunately missed the parade since we were in Toon Town. Afterwards we were a little hungry and dad was a little tired so they headed to Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe to take a break while we took Kellie to ride Winnie the Pooh. Lynn texted me and said that they were having a dance party there so after the ride we headed there for some dinner. When we were done eating, Kriss asked Kellie if she wanted to go down to the dance floor and surprisingly she said yes so they went down in front of the DJ and Kriss got her a hula hoop. She had a ball dancing and hula hooping with the DJ and then they did some silly dance. We also missed the fireworks since we were inside but Kellie was having so much fun dancing we couldn’t make her stop.
Then we decided to go try to ride a few rides and Kellie and Lynn wanted to go ride It’s A Small World and we also stopped and saw Mickey’s Philharmagic since it wasn’t there when dad and Lynn were there last. We headed towards Small World and I thought it was odd that they were allowing strollers to be parked in front of the ride like they used to, but they have been making you park them down by the old SkyWay landing since they took it down. Then Lynn turned around and yelled that Cinderella’s carriage was there. This is the pumpkin turned carriage that usually only gets used for weddings but they had it here for pictures. So we stood in line for them and then rode Small World.
It was getting late so we were going to go ride Pirates Of the Caribbean since it too had been refurbished since dad and Lynn had been there but somewhere between Small World and Pirates, Kellie couldn’t hang on any longer and passed out so dad, Lynn, and I rode it while Kriss watched Kellie and we left, it was almost midnight and the park was closing anyway.
