Food and Wine Trip

Although shorter than our usual Food and Wine visit, this year was still great. Kriss and I went down late Thursday night so we could get up Friday morning and be in the park when they opened. After a quick breakfast at Olivia’s, we were able to check in early at the Beach Club Villas Friday morning, around 9:00AM I think, and our room was ready so we could drop off our luggage and walk right in to EPCOT. I made ressies at the San Angel Inn for lunch (one of our favorite restaurants) so we got there right after they opened before taking off clockwise around the World Showcase. Every year there are more booths to sample from, you almost leave one line now and stand in the next while finishing food from the previous country. We have our favorites like pizza and cannoli from Italy, salmon from Canada, and Kriss’ favorite, kefta from Morocco, and all were back this year along with many new samplings. The weekend was scattered with rain this year and we walked from MGM back to the Beach Club in a downpour and STILL beat the boat. We would have waited but the line was so long we weren’t able to get under the cover anyway so we were just standing in the rain anyway and not getting anywhere. We sat in on some tastings this year that we haven’t done in a while and since they moved them up to the Wonders of Life Pavilion since it was not very interesting anyway, especially after seeing it once. I hope they keep this next year, there is lots of room there. We didn’t get to see anyone famous this year, the band was the “Original Family Stone” which we skipped and there were no celebrity chefs there that most would recognize. We did note the Iron Chef Cat Cora was going to be there in a few weeks as well as Chef Robert Irvine of Dinner:Impossible.

We unfortunately left our camera at home this year, walked right out and left it sitting by the door.
