Kellie’s 4th Birthday trip

After spending a week in Disney just last month with the whole family and catering more to the older kids, we decided to take a last minute trip to Disney on the weekend before Kellie’s birthday and let her do whatever she wanted. We got in late Thursday night/Friday morning for check in at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside. Somehow we managed to get up early Friday morning and get to MGM so Kellie could see Ariel at The Voyage Of The Little Mermaid show and see the Backlot Tour. I also went and got her an “It’s my Birthday” button from the City Hall when you first walk in the gate. If you’re wearing this button and any Disney cast member sees it no matter if they are ticket takers or picking up trash, they will immediately stop what they’re doing and tell you “Happy Birthday!”

We didn’t stay there long though and headed for Magic Kingdom. For the first time since she was an infant though, this trip we got her to finally talk to and make pictures with the characters. When we first got there, Kellie started talking about wanting an autograph book and pen, she’s seen other kids with them and decided she wanted one. Kriss told her that if she got that, she’d have to stand in line and meet the characters to get them to sign it and have a picture taken and she shocked us by saying “OK.” So we took her to Toon Town which is where Mickey is at Magic Kingdom and sure enough she met Mickey and got his autograph and took a picture with him. She also went to meet all the Princesses, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Donald and Daisy Duck, Chip and Dale, Goofy, and Ariel.

Aurora (Sleeping Beauty,) Belle, and Cinderella were her favorites, especially Cinderella. Kellie is a very shy girl that NEVER talks to a stranger (or some family members even) but when she went up to Cinderella and she saw her birthday button and asked her how old she was, Kellie immediately held up four fingers and said she was four years old. They all sat down on the floor with her and poofed out their dresses and she plopped right down with them and let them sign her book and posed with them. They hugged and kissed her and I don’t think I could have slapped the smile off her face after meeting Cinderella, she was so happy. I don’t think we could have given her a better present for any money.

Saturday we went to EPCOT and let her ride Nemo again, she loves that ride, and someone told us that Cinderella and Prince Charming were in the French Pavilion. I also knew that Jasmine is usually in Morocco and sometimes Aurora (Sleeping Beauty) is in France also along with Belle in her blue outfit. But for some reason today she wasn’t in to the characters and only got to meet Jasmine and Aladdin, and Cinderella and Prince Charming and just really wasn’t in to it for some reason. She still had a good time though and we had a nice leisurely day in the parks with her.
